Do I require a Visa to Visit Thailand?
Passport holders from the following countries do not require a visa when
entering Thailand for tourism purposes if their stay in Thailand does not
exceed 30/90 days, as the case may be. The applicant must, however, possess
sufficient instrument of means of living expenses (20,000 Baht per person or
40,000 Baht per family).
Country which has concluded agreement on the exemption of visa requirement for
holders of diplomatic passport with Thailand and permitted to stay for 30 days.

Visa Exemption
- According to the Interior Ministerial Announcements dated 1 October B.E. 2545 (2002), 20 December B.E. 2545 (2002), 18 October B.E. 2547 (2004), 6 May B.E. 2548 (2005), and 23 June 2554 (2011), passport holders from 48 countries and 1 special administrative region - Hong Kong SAR - are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days on each visit. If such foreigners enter the Kingdom at the immigration checkpoints which border neighboring countries, they will be allowed to stay for 15 days each time, except Malaysian nationals who cross the borderline from Malaysia whose granted period of stay will not exceed 30 days each time.
- Please note that Tourist Visa Exemption does not apply to foreigners holding Travel Document for Aliens issued by these countries.
- Foreigners entering Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption category must possess adequate finances for the duration of stay in Thailand (i.e., cash 10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family).

(****)Thailand holds bilateral agreements on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official and ordinary passports for a visit of not exceeding 90 days with Brazil, the Republic of Korea and Peru. Therefore, nationals of these 3 countries are exempted from visa requirements and are permitted to enter and stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 90 days.

What is the Visa application procedure for Diplomatic / Official
passport holders?

Passport holders will apply with Thailand Visa Application Center (Gulshan) on any working day (Sunday-Thursday) between 0900 hrs- 1200 hrs & 1400 hrs - 1500 hrs. with competent authority’s Note Verbal, duly filled out application forms and all relevant original documents.
Do I need to pay any other fee apart from the Visa fee?
Yes, you are required to pay the VFS service charge of Tk.400 (inclusive of
all) per passport. Other Charges payable for Value Added services are:
If you want to make a DD - Tk. 40 (All inclusive) as DD charge.
I want to apply for Transit Visa and am scheduled to visit
Thailand more than once during this visit, what will be the Visa fee?
Transit Visa Fee is Tk. 2000 Per entry. (For Instance if an applicant wishes to enter 4 times to Thailand then his/her fee would be Tk. 2000 X 4 = Tk. 8000)
Do I need to come in person to apply?
Any one can submit your application as long as it is filled in complete and
signed by the applicant.
TEMPORARY TOURIST VISA
Visa on Arrival
According to the Interior Ministerial Announcements passport holders from 28 countries may apply for visas at the immigration checkpoints for the purpose of tourism for the period of not exceeding 15 days.
-The applicant must possess means of living expenses 20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family accordingly.
-The applicant must produce full paid ticket which is usable within 15 days since the date of entry.
-Visa on arrival is provided at 24 designated international checkpoints and applicant should produce the application form to which his/her recent photograph (4*6 cm) is attached. The application fee is 1,000 Baht,
-Visitors who enter the Kingdom with Visa on Arrival generally cannot file an application for extension of stay except in special cases such as illness which prevent them from travelling, etc. They can submit an application at the office of Immigration Bureau, Immigration Division 1, Government, Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, laksi,Bangkok 10120. LIST OF COUNTRIES WHICH ARE DECLARED YELLOW FEVER – INFECTED AREAS

The Ministry of Public Health has issued regulations that applicant who has travelled from or through the countries which have been declared yellow fever infected areas must provide an International health Certificate providing that they have received a Yellow Fever vaccination.
The International health Certificate must be submitted together with the visa application form. The traveler will also have to present the said certificate to the Immigration Officer upon arrival at the port of entry in the Kingdom. As for those nationals of the countries listed below but who have not travelled from/through those countries, such a certificate is not required. However, they should possess concrete evidence showing that their domicile is not in an infected areas so as to prevent unnecessary inconvenience. |
